Amazon SDE II in Seattle: OA, phone screen and a four-interview loop with every question listed
I applied for a SDE II position in Seattle.
The first was an OA which consisted of 2 LeetCode questions:
Find Good Days to Rob the Bank
I remember I was pretty tight on time. I think it was 25 mins per question so keep that in mind. After that was a bunch of engineer and cultural fit MCQ questions that were all pretty straightforward and just common sense.
The next round was the Valid Parentheses coding question with two behavioural questions:
Discuss a time you made a recommendation that got push back from a manager
Describe a time you delivered under time pressure and the result
I then had a recruiter call outlining the full loop interview process. It was 4 interviews:
3 technical rounds, each had a coding question and 2-3 behavioural questions
1 full behavioural round
Interview 1
Coding question: Simplify Unix-Style File System Path
Discuss a big project you worked on
Tell me about when you tried to help someone in your company
Discuss a time you did something outside of your remit
Did you talk to customers in your previous role
Interview 2
Why are you leaving your current role and joining Amazon
Describe a time when you had a tough deadline to reach
Have you ever improved a codebase or made something better
Have you ever had to change course midway through a project
Interview 3
Coding question: Analyze User Website Visit Pattern
Discuss the biggest problem you have solved
Have you ever improved a metric
Interview 4
Coding question: LLD Locker Allocation System
Discuss a time when you got push back from teammates
Have you ever strongly disagreed with a manager
The final round was a recruiter call with an offer which I declined. If you want to get an offer I would recommend knowing Amazon's 16 principles, the behavioural playbook, Amazon specific DSA and a few LLD and you'll be fine.

This is the most complete Amazon breakdown I have seen, thanks. Were the behavioural questions asked before or after the coding part in each round?
Behavioural first in all three technical rounds, roughly 20 minutes, then coding for the rest. So do not burn all your energy on the stories, you still need to be sharp for the problem.
the locker allocation LLD is a classic for them, got the same one in 2023. definately practise the size-tiered version
