Citi Senior Software Engineer: Karat coding, SQL and OOP

I have 8 years of experience and interviewed at Citi in June 2026 for a senior software developer role.

1st Technical

Online Karat round where I was asked LC style questions Kth Largest and reverse words in string. They also asked me the time and space complexities.

2nd Technical

This round was focused on SQL where they asked me to optimise some queries and solve some logic problems. They weren't hard but if you haven't practiced sql in a while it is worth revising up on.

3rd Technical

This round was primarily centered around oop and practical examples there. Make sure you know the difference between method overloading /overriding and the four pillars. I had been using it a previous jobs so it was fine but even if you only studied it in university you should be fine here

After a few days the recruiter reached out telling me I had an offer. I really liked the vibe I got from all my interviewers and the comp was very good so I decided to accept.
