AVEVA Interview Process - AI Native Engineer Intern
Round 1: Online Assessment (60 min)
They gave a codebase with issues in it and access to claude code and asked me to fix them using its help.
Round 2: Technical Interview
The interviewer began by asking me to walk through a project on my resume, a chatbot I built with an LLM API. They wanted to know why I chose that approach how I handled hallucinations and what changes I would make if the chatbot had to scale. Next they moved on to concepts. They asked about the difference between fine‑tuning and retrieval‑augmented generation how embeddings work at a level and what a vector database is used for.
Then they gave a live coding question in Python. I was asked to write a function that chunks a text into overlapping segments. They cared more about my reasoning and edge cases than about code.
Round 3: Technical + Managerial
This round was more discussion‑based. They presented a scenario. An industrial client wants engineers to ask questions about equipment manuals in English. I had to explain how I would design that system. That led to questions about how to parse documents how to evaluate answers and how to keep data private. They also asked how I keep up with AI developments and whether I use any AI coding tools in my workflow.
Round 4: HR
The HR round had behavioral questions. They asked me to tell them about myself why I want to work at AVEVA a time when I worked in a team under pressure and my availability, for the internship. The interview was chill and I got the offer a the next day.
