Zoho Interview Process
Candidate accounts describe several routes through Zoho software engineering interviews. The examples below cover written assessments, coding, application implementation and technical discussions. The order and format vary by role and hiring drive, so use your interview invitation to confirm the requirements. These reports are preparation evidence, not a guaranteed question list.
  • Written assessment: Some candidates report aptitude questions and code-output prediction. Practice tracing loops, pointers and changing program state. Confirm the assessment format and allowed languages with your recruiter.
  • Coding exercises: Reported tasks range from string manipulation to graph algorithms and dynamic programming. Practice explaining your approach, testing edge cases and analysing complexity.
  • Application implementation: Some accounts describe building an application from written requirements. Other candidates report additional coding instead. Prepare to model state, separate responsibilities and test behaviour.
  • Technical discussion: Candidate reports include project questions and discussions of data structures, object-oriented programming, databases and operating systems. Be ready to explain decisions in your own work.
  • HR and behavioral discussion: Reports include questions about projects and interest in Zoho. Prepare specific examples of decisions, collaboration and lessons learned.
Use these reported examples to guide a balanced preparation plan. They do not establish question frequencies or selection thresholds.
  • Data structures and algorithms: Practise strings, arrays, matrices, graphs and dynamic programming.
  • Application implementation: Turn requirements into classes, state transitions and tests.
  • Computer science fundamentals: Review the concepts needed to explain your implementation choices.
  • Behavioral preparation: Build specific examples from your projects and experience.

1. Data structures and algorithms

One software-developer account names Group Anagrams and 3Sum. A January 2025 off-campus account lists Sudoku Solver, Number of Islands, Rod Cutting and Safe Nodes. These are individual reports, not a prediction of your assessment. An intern/FTE account describes nested string decoding, which you can practise with Decode String, and a rectangular Fibonacci spiral. A February 2026 account reports version-string comparison. Use Compare Version Numbers to practise parsing and leading-zero handling.A 2025-batch account reports Roman to Integer. An older off-campus account with an unspecified interview date asks for the three most frequent numbers. Top K Frequent Elements is a generalised practice version of that task, with k set to three.

2. Application implementation

A February 2026 candidate describes an employee database with search, updates, reporting hierarchy and manager reassignment. A separate 2025-batch account describes an accounting application involving orders and inventory. For practice, identify the entities and operations before writing code. Decide how to keep related records consistent, then test empty states, invalid requests and updates that affect other records. These application exercises are useful examples of low-level design. They do not establish a universal distributed-system design round.

3. Computer science fundamentals

The software-developer account includes linked-list checks, BFS/DFS discussion and project questions. The 2025-batch account also describes database and operating-system topics.Review how your chosen data structures work and why they suit a problem. Practise explaining object boundaries, database relationships and concurrency tradeoffs using projects you know well. Ask for clarification when an interview task leaves its constraints open.

4. Behavioral preparation

The 2025-batch account mentions project discussion and reasons for joining Zoho. Prepare a concise account of a project, a difficult decision and what you learned. For collaboration questions, describe your own actions and their results.Read the role description and connect your interests to the work it describes. Confirm practical details such as location and interview format directly with the hiring team.

Conclusion

Combine coding practice with application implementation and explanations of your own project decisions. Use the Zoho interview roadmap to organise your study. Candidate reports provide examples to practise, while your invitation remains the source for the requirements of your interview.
