Groww Interview Process
Groww engineering interviews vary by role, team and hiring route. The accounts in this guide describe algorithms, practical coding, design and project discussions. They are individual candidate experiences, not an official question bank or a fixed interview sequence. Check the format for your own role with your recruiter.
  • Coding and project discussion: An April 2026 SDE-2 account describes an hour-long coding round using Distinct Subsequences. A backend internship account instead names Stock II and Candy, followed by discussion of the candidate's projects and core subjects. Prepare to implement a solution, explain its cost and work through examples.
  • Machine coding and low-level design: The April 2026 account reports a 90-minute brokerage exercise with order matching and partial fills. An April 2025 SDE-2 account describes a cache exercise and a follow-up about supporting different eviction policies. These examples reward clear requirements, working behavior and a design that can accommodate changes.
  • Architecture and experience: A December 2024 SDE-3 interview, reported in April 2025, included API-usage monetization, a separate SIP scheduling design discussion, and hiring-manager and HR conversations. The April 2026 account instead describes intraday risk evaluation. Prepare examples from your own work and discuss failure handling, consistency and trade-offs where they apply.
The practice collection contains ten coding exercises and two low-level design exercises. The broader design discussions below are preparation prompts, not additional graded questions.
  • Coding practice: Work through reported array, string, dynamic-programming and counting tasks.
  • Order matching and cache design: Build working components and explain how their behavior can change.
  • Broader design preparation: Discuss trading risk, request handling and scheduled investments without assuming one interview format.
  • Evidence and study plan: Understand the source limits and organize practice around your target role.

1. Coding practice

The backend internship account names Best Time to Buy and Sell Stock II and Candy. Stock II allows repeated transactions while holding at most one share. Explain why collecting each positive adjacent price gain is optimal.A separate campus internship account explicitly limits its stock question to one transaction, which maps to Best Time to Buy and Sell Stock. It also describes Minimum Cost For Tickets with a smaller date range and finding Missing and Duplicate Elements. Our missing-and-duplicate exercise returns two sorted lists in a fixed order for grading. That output format is a TechPrep convention. The April 2026 SDE-2 account identifies Distinct Subsequences. An AI/LLM internship account names Container With Most Water, while a September 2026 SDE-2 account links Sliding Window Maximum. In each case, practise the reasoning as well as the implementation.A Groww online-assessment account describes Fortunate Numbers: count numbers in a range whose binary representation contains `101`. The range bounds in our exercise require an efficient counting method. Count each qualifying number once, even if the pattern occurs several times. The Groww section of a multi-company candidate account describes Valid Palindrome II, where at most one character may be removed. Keep the employer sections separate when using that report.

2. Order matching and cache design

Practise Order Book - Matching Engine against the matching exercise in the SDE-3 account. The April 2026 report adds concrete requirements around price priority, ordering within one price level and partial fulfillment. Our exercise concentrates on the matching core. Its operation-based API is a practice contract, and it does not reproduce the larger application's wallet, portfolio, role-management or price-band requirements.Caching Library with Pluggable Eviction Policies supports the cache-design preparation described by the April 2025 candidate. The report describes feedback that a FIFO-only implementation was insufficient. In practice, explain which state belongs to the cache, which decisions belong to the eviction policy, and what happens when that policy changes. TechPrep's exact methods and supported policies define the practice exercise, not a verbatim interview specification.

3. Broader design preparation

The April 2026 SDE-2 report describes evaluating live prices against risk rules and closing positions when a threshold is reached. Discuss event handling, consistent state and avoiding duplicate actions as preparation. A general exchange architecture is not a substitute for defining this service's responsibilities. The SDE-3 report describes monetizing API usage with subscription limits and notifications. It separately labels creating, updating and scheduling systematic investment plans as low-level design, with discussion of schemas, versioning and concurrency. These reports support design discussion, but do not provide complete executable specifications for additional graded exercises. For frontend and mobile roles, use role-specific material. A React Native internship account reports an app assignment, framework discussion and a live todo-list exercise. Those tasks are outside this coding collection and should not be treated as evidence of a backend interview loop.

4. Evidence and study plan

The collection uses individual candidate accounts and distinguishes their tasks from TechPrep's assessment conventions. Page-update dates on GeeksforGeeks do not establish the interview date. We do not infer a universal hiring timeline, round count, salary or question frequency from these sources. Some reported tasks need more detail before they can become reliable practice exercises. For example, the knight account leaves the board boundaries unclear, and the single-element account does not establish that its input is sorted. We have also held Find Peak Element while its grading contract is reviewed. Project-specific SQL discussions without a schema do not justify inventing a SQL question.Use the Groww interview roadmap to organize the reviewed coding and design exercises alongside general behavioral preparation. Those behavioral questions are TechPrep study material, not confirmed Groww interview questions. Start with tasks relevant to your role, explain your decisions aloud, and bring specific examples of debugging, collaboration and project trade-offs.

Conclusion

Combine algorithm practice with working design exercises and examples from your own experience. The Groww interview roadmap puts the reviewed collection into an adjustable study plan.
